June Bark About: Fire Hike

Sunday, June 10, 2018 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

Wildfire has been a very misunderstood but essential and beneficial aspect of our forests. Join hike Bark hike leaders at the site of a recent fire in the White River watershed to learn about the roles that fire plays on our public lands and why we must learn to live with this natural disturbance if we want our forests to be healthy and resilient in the face of climate change.

Carpools leave from the Hollywood Trader Joe’s, 4121 NE Halsey, (across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver.  If you would like to arrange a meet-up closer to the forest, please let us know by giving us a call at our number below.

Bring a lunch, water, and anything else you'll need to stay comfortable in the forest. To protect off-trail resources, we ask you to leave your dog at home.

Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.

If you are willing to drive in our carpool, please review Bark's Driver Safety Expectations before coming.
