Gibson Prairie OHV Area
Gibson Prairie was one of six OHV areas in Mt. Hood National Forest originally proposed for the Mt. Hood OHV Plan. Through coalition building, groundtruthing, and community organizing, Bark is happy to announce that the Gibson Prairie OHV area was dropped from the final decision for OHV recreation on Mt. Hood. The final design of the OHV Plan creates access for OHV users in Mt. Hood National Forest, but removed segments of OHV use from areas that would abutt wilderness areas. The OHV Plan also makes illegal any OHV access to areas of Mt. Hood National Forest not designes as an OHV play area.
