Intro to NEPA

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) was enacted in 1970 and is one of the most critical bedrock environmental laws in the United States. NEPA requires federal agencies to assess the environmental impacts of their proposed actions and disclose these impacts to you, the public.

But what is NEPA in reality? How has its implementation changed since its inception? What is a CE? EA? EIS? FONSI? How do environmental organizations like Bark use NEPA in their defense and advocacy work? How is NEPA under attack today?

Ethan Yarish, a 3L at Lewis and Clark Law School and friend/volunteer of Bark will help us answer these questions (and more from you!) during a presentation at the Bark office on Feb 26th from 6-7:30pm. There will be time for discussion and more questions at the end!
