Beaver Club

Beaver Club season is back! Beavers are most active in late summer and early fall and it’s the perfect chance to spot them hard at work on Portland metro waterways.

Beaver Club is a pre-sunrise chance to see beavers hard at work before they rest for the day. We’ll meet at an urban wetland with chairs, hot beverages and binoculars to watch our favorite restoration technicians do what they do best. Please note that seeing beaver(s) is not guaranteed! Beavers move often, spending plenty of time in their dens, underwater and in other less visible areas.

Beavers are not a fan of commotion so this will be a small, quiet event. Meg is happy to answer a few pressing questions but talking will be limited. No animals or small children for this reason.

Beaver Club September 20, 2025 will be hosted at Whitaker Ponds Nature Park. We will meet in the parking lot at 6am and walk to the path between the two ponds to wait for beaver activity. This is not a good space for chairs so be prepared to stand. Email Meg@Bark-Out.org with any questions!
