Bark Out: May Families in the Forest
Join Bark for a family-friendly, accessible outing to the Wildwood Recreation Area on the Salmon River.
We’ll do a little bit of everything: meeting and greeting all the members of the forest community, learning about forest management, playing some games, doing some art, and celebrating the return of Bark’s in-person programming. All hike participants will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the ecology, history, and current social dimensions of the area.
Bring your journaling and art supplies, and we’ll bring some too. Bring your human family members, if you like!
Leaders are Nicki (Bark Board member) and Mia (Bark volunteer)
We will spend the day moving through the forest, both on roads and off-trail, walking over uneven terrain, with down logs, and possible ice and snow. We will make numerous stops for discussion, please come prepared to keep yourself warm and comfortable in the weather.
