Bark Out: PNW Plant ID

Take a walk with us as we look for common Pacific Northwest plants, and talk about their history and use. Powell Butte is home to a few separate ecosystems with its open meadows, groves of wild hawthorn trees, forested slopes of Western red cedar, and wetlands near Johnson Creek. On a clear day, you will have a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood.

This Bark Out will be held at Powell Butte Nature Park: 16160 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97236.

We will spend the day moving through the forest, both on roads and off-trail, walking over uneven terrain, with down logs, and possible mud and water. We will make numerous stops for discussion and personal reflection, please come prepared to keep yourself warm and comfortable in the weather.
