September Bark-About Hike

Date:
Sunday, September 8, 2013 - 9:00am

For our September hike Bark volunteers  Michael Krochta and Kim Hack will be taking folks up to the Zig Zag area to talk fish. There has been some amazing restoration work going on in the Zig Zag district, from Bark's work getting the Horseshoe Timber sale canceled to numerous roads being decommissioned. Join us for this hike seeking anadromous fish and their habitat and learn what we can do to ensure healthy stocks of fish in Mt Hood.

Please be prepared to hike off trail.  Bring lunch, water, and sturdy boots. The weather is very unpredictable this time of year, so don't forget extra layers of clothes and water resistant gear. To protect off-trail resources, we ask that you leave your dog at home.

Carpools will meet at the Hollywood Trader Joe's, 4121 NE Halsey in Portland at 9am sharp. It is across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver. If you would like to try to arrange a meet up closer to the forest, please contact the Bark office the week before the hike.

Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.
