POSTPONED: January Bark About Hike to the Molalla River

Date:
Sunday, January 8, 2017 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

*Due to the winter snow warning and unanticipated snow levels in the foothills, this hike is postponed. Please take extra caution this weekend and stay tuned for more Bark events later this month!*

Join hike leaders Jayson and Lo this month to explore the Hole in the Road Timber Sale, a BLM project located along the scenic Molalla River. The BLM recently cancelled 88 acres of this project, but the proposal still includes many acres of never-logged forest with high quality habitat for wildlife. We will discuss the ecology and policy behind this proposal, and see for ourselves some of the most beautiful parts of the Molalla River.

*Please dress appropriately for beautiful winter weather, including warm and waterproof layers (not cotton), and warm boots. More info here: http://www.wikihow.com/Dress-for-the-Cold. We will likely be in the snow for the majority of the day. If you are planning on driving, please bring chains.*

Carpools leave from the Hollywood Trader Joe’s, 4121 NE Halsey, (across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2) in Portland at 9am sharp. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver.  If you would like to arrange a meet-up closer to the forest, please let us know by giving us a call at our number below.

Bring a lunch, water, and anything else you'll need to stay comfortable in the forest. To protect off-trail resources, we ask you to leave your dog at home.

Call Bark at 503-331-0374 for more details and information.

If you are willing to drive in our carpool, please review Bark's Driver Safety Expectations before coming.
